Wynand de Kock was born in
Johannesburg, South Africa. Married to artist Marian Bosch, Wynand has been
painting for the last four years. He was initially influenced and tutored by
renowned South African artist, Derric van Rensburg. Derric's flamboyant
painting technique, as well as his love of colour and texture has had a big
impact on Wynand's work. Wynand also draws inspiration from English painter
John Piper, whose work focuses mainly on war-damaged buildings in London. This
influence is evident in Wynand's paintings, which often incorporate buildings
as well as the interconnectivity of life in the city.
The following artworks are a representation of the Artist's body of work. A wider
selection
is available for viewing at Afrikana Gallery in South Melbourne. |
